Alison HickmanTissue Viability Nurse
Alison Hickman has worked for Healogics as a Tissue Viability Nurse for two years.
Alison originally trained as a nurse in Brighton, becoming qualified in 1983. She then then worked at the Royal Sussex County hospital for 10 years, specialising in head and neck surgery. She went on from there to the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in central London and completed an ENB course in ear nose and throat nursing. Subsequently she worked for 10 years at Cuckfield and Princess Royal hospitals, on a male surgical ward. She then broadened her horizons by working as a community nurse in Horsham for some 13 years, during which she gained a lot of experience with leg ulcers and Doppler assessments. Since coming to Healogics, she has completed specialist courses in sharp debridement and Lymphoedema.
