Our team, based in our Centre in The Midlands, is run by our Associate Clinical Director - Julie Stanton.

Julie Stanton qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1986 and began her career in Infectious diseases and Orthopaedic nursing going on to qualify as Registered Sick children’s nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 1990 she became a qualified District Nurse and has worked in the community setting for 25 years.
Following a year working with the Family Health Services Authority working with General Practitioners to improve standards, she began her career as a Tissue Viability nurse in 1995 setting up one of the first Community nursing Tissue Viability services within Birmingham where she worked for 15 years. The service grew into one of the largest community Tissue Viability teams, which encompassed one of the first dedicated nursing home services and a lymphoedema service.
In 2010 she embarked on a new challenge to further develop a Tissue Viability service following the merger of three Primary Care trusts within South Staffordshire . Her passion is within the field of Leg ulcer management and improving the patient experience and nurse education and has developed diploma accredited course in Tissue Viability. More recently Julie has qualified as a FLG lymphoedema nurse specialist and a Specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission.
